Graduation from WWU:: Master's In Teaching.
EDUCATION::
I went to the University of Washington and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Anthropology. It was attending college in Seattle that I began to grow and found at least one calling in life, to become a teacher for social justice. After I graduated, I moved to Bellingham and served with Americorps for a year before enrolling in a graduate program at Western Washington University. I did not always know that I wanted to become a teacher. It took three year of college at UW before arriving at that decision. In 2004, I enrolled in Western Washington University's Master's In Teaching program, with an emphasis in multicultural education.

MY TEACHING STYLE::
I am fun (funny/sarcastic), energetic, and passionate. I am mostly organized but part of my personality is making sure that I am flexible and adaptable to the needs of my students. I strongly believe in cooperative learning, creative assessment, and uncovering the "lost" voices in history. I believe learning should be FUN and should incorporate the interests of my students.
Sample Lessons and Activities:: Brochures, newsletters, scenarios and simulations, "raps", creating maps/charts/graphs, inquiry-based learning, research projects, current events, media studies, political cartoons, poetry, comic strips, deliberations/discussion, journaling, book making, interviewing experts, guest speakers, drama-role play, cross-word puzzles, and much, much more...
